Welcome to the home page of the Santa Fe Trail RC&D area Council.  

The Santa Fe Trail RC&D area includes ten counties in Southwest Kansas.  These counties include Greeley, Wichita, Finney, Hamilton, Stevens, Morton, Grant, Stanton, Kearny and Scott counties. The council's two main sponsors are the Board of Commissioners and the Conservation Districts from each county.  The Santa Fe Trail RC&D is a member of the State Association of RC&D Councils and the National Association of Resource Conservation and Development Councils.  

 

Our Mission

To provide leadership, assistance, and coordination for the people of Southwest Kansas, enabling them to promote economic growth, stability, resource management, and enhance the quality of life.

Our Objectives

Objectives for the Santa Fe Trail RC&D were adopted by the council to address three areas of concern;  Natural, Economic and Social.  Objectives are:

  1. Education and familiarizing the public with RC&D.
  2. Improving water quality to ensure safe water supply.
  3. Solid waste management.
  4. Erosion and wildlife conservation.
  5. Development and improvement of economic markets.
  6. Educational needs for all citizens.
  7. Improve access roads, community facilities and services.
  8. Sustaining Renewable Resources
